| Above are the pilots who signed some of the "Struck by Black Lightning" prints. Marv Lubner signed all of them and most also have Wayne Johnson, Max Parnell and Dan Mitchell. about 60 are signed by all of them including General Scott. | ||||

I began my research for this painting I was fortunate enough to be put
in contact with Wayne (Whitey) Johnson who was the group historian as
well as one of the 118th pilots |

Wayne
like most of the pilots I have met where more than willing to share
resources as well as stories and was kind enough to provide me with
a copy of the actual combat report my painting is based on. Enjoy |

Happier days. This is myself, Whitey Johnson Selby Burch and Dan Mitchell at a private ranch in Texas where Selby and I where gusts of honor along with General Scott. Selby and I where made honorary members of the 118th Tactical Recon Squadron in honor of our work in preserving the legacy of the group. Both Wayne and Dan have passed on as well as Max Parnell. I will miss them. |
